U2 select songs that are in the context of the show: "C'mon Everybody", "Pride(In the Name of Love)", "New Year's Day", "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "Maggie's Farm", "Help", "Bad", "Sun City", "I Shall Be Released". When U2 come on stage, white flags appear everywhere, as they will for the remaining 7 dates of the tour. The Edge's guitar cuts out at the beginning, leaving the band wondering what to do. Bono again fills the void with some quick ad-libbing. Bono urges the crowd to sing "Pride(In the Name of Love)" for "Martin Luther King, and every prisoner in every jail, wrongfully imprisoned!" Before "Maggie's Farm", Bono blindfold's himself and walks to the edge of the stage, and up onto the speakers--he removes the blindfold and starts to sing. He will perform this act every night of the tour. Lou Reed adds vocals to "Sun City", a song written by Little Steven to discourage fellow artists from performing in the rich, white community in South Africa. The crowd sing the key words, "Twenty three million can't vote because they're black. We're stabbing our brothers and sisters in the back!". THIS DAY - U2´S HISTORY: Bono meets Rene Castro / ..."a religious man who became a very dangerous man when he failed to work out the hands of love"... / more with Island Records / swastikas on screen during "Bullet the Blue Sky" / my friend The Edge!

"11 O´Clock Tick Tock" - june 2, 1980. U2 perform in Uneaton, England at the 77 Club. Support is "Fashion".

"Rene Castro" - june 2, 1986. While preparing for the first "Conspiracy of Hope" concert in San Francisco, Bono and Lou Reed meet Chilean artist Rene Castro, who because his artwork was criticized by the government of dictator General A. Pinochet, was tortured and beaten by the military. Castro had been held for two years in a concentration camp until Amnesty International was able to free him. Castro's work in the US focuses mainly on countries in Central America which suffer from the US's military intervention. Bono and Castro agree to stay in touch.

"The Joshua Tree" tour - june 2, 1987. U2 perform in London, England at Wembley Stadium. The show is added for those people who don't want to see U2 in a large stadium. The show is five days before parliamentary elections in the UK, and the show is politcially charged. During "Exit", Bono explains the song is about "a religious man who became a very dangerous man when he failed to work out the hands of love," and then adds, "You could call him Ian Paisley[Irish politician], yeah...sure! You can put anyone you like in that spot, put me in the spot!" During "Maggie's Farm", Bono says, "You've got a few days to make up your mind. We sing songs about our country being divided. Tonight, we sing this song for your country because it is also divided. I'm not going to tell you how to vote, but you will all be voting won't you?...Sing for me, I ain't gonna work on Maggie's Farm no more..." "U2 extends contract with Island Records" - june 2, 1993 - U2 and Island Records announce an extension of the band's current record contract. "ZOOTV - Zooropa" - june 2, 1993. U2 perform in Frankfurt, Germany at the Waldstadion. At a show in Frankfurt, Germany, Bono makes repeated references to the latest in a stream of racist incidents in Germany, where a firebomb was thrown into a house owned by a Turkish family in the town of Genc. The first Zooropa show in Germany is also noteworthy because U2 continue to display burning swastikas on screen during "Bullet the Blue Sky," even though the image of the swastika has been declared illegal to display publically in the newly-united Germany.

He brings her on-stage and briefly dances with her; this also marks the first show in which Bono and Edge perform an acoustic version of "Staring at the Sun" on the b-stage, the song that has given the band trouble since the PopMart Tour's opening night in Las Vegas. Fallon!" Wearing a bat-cape, B.P. makes his entrance, first flying with his hands in front of himself, and then with his hands held over his head, clasped in triumph. "Guten abend, wie geht's? Sehr gut? Yeah...? Okay...meine name ist B.P. Fallon, and before U2 auf der Buhne kommt, werde ich etwas fur euch spielen. I'd like to welcome you to a night of trash and Las Vegas flash, and sex and sould and magic and mystery!" He spins "The Beatles"' German version of "She Loves You", and then announces, "I just want to actually say something about sex, you know. I'll try and say it in German: 'Ich musste etwas uber Sex sagen. Sex ist sehr fantastich, aber jetzt im Jahren '90, es ist anders. So if you're having wild, funky, dirty sex, or you're making beautiful, soft, tender love, what you've got to do when du machts Liebe, you've got to use a condom. Gebrauch ein Kondome!" That night, Bono dedicates "Sattelite of Love" to German band "Kraftwerk". Again, Bono is tired and during the night's performance of "Desire", leaves out a large portion of the song and allows The Edge to take over. Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

As his 4-nation tour of Africa with U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill winds down, Bono puts on a suit and tie to address the African Development Bank's (ADB) annual conference. It is U2's first outdoor event of the year. Support is "Lone Justice", "Big Audio Dynamite", and "The Pretenders".

"ZOOTV" tour - may 27, 1992. U2 perform in Zurich, Switzerland at Hellenstadion. "One" is followed by a verse from the song Bono wrote for Roy Orbison, "She's a Mystery To Me". While flipping through channels after "The Fly", Bono comes across a fake commerical for "U2's Greatest Hits". The commercial has been put together by U2's production designer Peter Williams as a joke on the band. When talking to fans after the show, Bono says the band hope to start including "Acrobat" into ZooTV, because it's his favorite track on "Achtung Baby". Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"Oval Office" - may 27, 1997. U2 visit the Oval Office and meet President Bill Clinton.

"Elevation" tour - may 27, 2001 / Montreal PQ, Canada - Molson Centre - PJ Harvey. During tonight's band introductions, Bono goes "I'd like to introduce you to the rest of the Spice Girls," he said. "On drums, Baby Spice." Bassist Adam Clayton was Posh, and Edge? "Are you Sporty or Scary?" Edge wears this night, grey shirt#7

"Bono, O'Neill go public with disagreements over African aid" - may 27, 2002. Almost a week into their joint tour of Africa, Bono and U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill openly speak of their differences over African aid. After visiting a poorly equipped school and a village water well in Uganda today, O'Neill questions how agencies spent the $300 million they received in aid last year and why many Ugandans don't have clean water when new wells could be built for all residents for roughly $25 million. Bono disagrees, telling reporters the school and water well issues are examples of why more aid is needed. "If the secretary can't see that," he says, "we're going to have to get him a pair of glasses and a new set of ears."

"Bono sings in Modena, again" - may 27, 2003. Bono appears at the Pavarotti and Friends concert in Modena, Italy and performs two songs without any help from the rest of U2. His performance includes "One" with an orchestra backing, and he later sings "Ave Maria" with Pavarotti. But Bono has written new lyrics that reflect the ongoing situation in the Middle East: "Strength is not without humility / It's weakness, an untreatable disease / And war is always the choice / Of the chosen who will not have to fight." The concert raises an estimated £1 million pounds for Iraqi war refugees. It's Bono's second performance at Pavarotti's concert -- he performed with Edge and Brian Eno during the 1995 concert.

Bono then asks if the phone caller is in the audience--he is, and Bono invites him on stage, and asks him, "You wanna play drums?" THIS DAY - U2´S HISTORY: U2 meet Paul McGuinness / he climbs the stage scaffolding / Olympiahalle / 'Stay' to Amnesty benefit concert / red shirt#55!

"U2 meet Paul McGuinness - may 25, 1978. At Bill Graham's suggestion, and after months of pestering by Adam Clayton, Paul McGuinness sees U2 live for the first time at a support gig for the "Revolvers" in Dublin's Project Arts Centre and decides to become their manager. Paul McGuinness's only previous experience in the music industry was as a promoter for forgotten's Sixties singer Donovan's return to the stage in Dublin, and managing an Irish Folk Band called "Spud". McGuinness previously dabbled in advertising, ran a mobile DJ service, drove a cab, been a tourguide in Lourdes, and worked as a location manager on a movie starring Sean Connery. During this time, U2 start writing their own material: "Alone in The Light", "Fake Prophet", "The Magic Carpet", "Concentration Camp", "Street Mission", and "Boy/Girl". After the show, in a pub close to the Project Arts Centre, McGuinness agrees to manage U2. He places them on a 25 Pound subsistence allowance, and they agree to give him a 20% cut of all profits from the band.

"Boy" tour - may 25, 1981. U2 perform in Providence, Rhode Island at Center Stage.

"War" tour - may 25, 1983. U2 perform in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at the Queen Elizabeth Theater. Support is "Dream Syndicate".

The crowd is unresponsive, and Bono resort to an old trick: he climbs the stage scaffolding during "Electric Co.".

"ZOOTV" tour - may 25, 1992. U2 perform in Munich, Germany at the Olympiahalle. This is the first of five German dates, and U2 are greeted loudly by the cheering fans who have come to see and experience ZooTV. While flipping, Bono shows his pleasure/displeasure towards the television by greeting everything with a "Good Evening" or "Good Night". While on the B-stage, an audience member throws a plastic cup at Bono, to which Bono replies, "That was close..." The visuals for "Bullet The Blue Sky" -- instead of the same word on every screen, "BOOM" is included and in the mean time other words are flashed on every screen --. are different for this performance as the road crew are still tinkering with the workings of the show. Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"Elevation" tour - may 25, 2001 / Toronto ON, Canada - Air Canada Centre - PJ Harvey. Canada's MuchMusic TV network broadcasts live from the arena before the show and airs snippets of several songs throughout the night. This is U2's first performance in Austria, and their first outdoor performance since Auckland, Australia, on November 11, 1989. The stage set-up is extended by 3 large vidi-walls at the sides of the stage, and behind the also enlarged lighting tower. For the first time, B.P. Fallon plays Disposable Heroes of HipHoprisy's "Television: Drug Of The Nation" as the intro to ZooTV. "One" is dedicated to "the men and boys of Guns 'N' Roses". Axl Rose joins the band for "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", marking the first time U2 perform the song since November 28, 1989(Osaka, Japan). During "Desire" Bono takes a swipe at the whole U2 camp by singing "For love or money, lotsa money....'Let's do it outdoors!'...more money!" Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"POPMart" tour - may 24 1997. U2 perform in Columbus, Ohio. At the PopMart show in Columbus, Ohio, Bono spots a fan with a t-shirt that reads "Kill Bono" - Bono calls for the shirt and puts it on, and sings about it during "Bullet the Blue Sky" -- "How much do you think I get for this shirt? One hundred? Two hundred Three Hundred?" Edge sings " Daydream Believer" this night for his karaoke.

"May 24, 1998" - U2 split with longtime accountants, OJ Kilkenny & Company. The dispute stems from a long standing disagreement with manager Paul McGuinness.

"Elevation" tour - may 24, 2001 / Toronto ON, Canada - Air Canada Centre - PJ Harvey. Bono adds parts of Bob Dylan's 'Mr. Tambourine Man' in 'Elevation' and sings an abbreviated 'Forever Young' at the end of 'One' as tribute to the legendary singer who turned 60 years old today. Edge wears red shirt#55 this night.

Bono visits HIV/AIDS 'epicenter' in South Africa" - may 24, 2002. On day five of their tour of Africa, Bono and U.S. Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill visit Chris Hani Baragwanath hospital -- a 2,888-bed hospital listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's biggest hospital. There, hospital staff and donor agency officials tell them that although $50 million comes in yearly for AIDS, most of the 2,000 HIV positive mothers at the unit, who would need just $2 million for treatment, remained untreated. Bono and O'Neill are shocked by what they are told and see. Bono says "I am speechless," while Secretary O'Neill -- whose voice is described as 'quivering' by reporters in attendance -- says "This whole business about having so much money...and it not going primarily to treatment is just a stunning revelation. Before we ask for more money, for God's sake what are we doing with what we've got?" Later, the pair traveled to a housing project in Soweto, where Bono is greeted by schoolchildren singing along to U2's 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.' When their tape player breaks, Bono steps in to finish the song.

26th 'VERTIGO' show - may 24, 2005 - Boston, MA - Fleet Center - Kings of Leon - Edge was absolutely on fire / Gaelic counting during 'Vertigo' aon, dó, trí, ceathair' / no one was pulled up on stage / Peter Wolf - Teresa Earnhardt / 'My Sweet Lord' at the end of 'Mysterious Ways' - U2's unofficial hometown in the U.S. gives the band a loud and energetic welcome for the first of three shows to close out the tour's first leg. Bono counts 1, 2, 3, 14 in Gaelic during 'Vertigo', saying Boston is an Irish town, not Spanish (This is not a Spanish town,'said Bono, 'this is an Irish town', which was pretty clear with his unique introduction to Vertigo @ aon, dó, trí, ceathair' (That's Gaelic by the way!)...Former J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf is namechecked during 'Beautiful Day', and '40' is dedicated to Teresa Earnhardt, widow of racing legend Dale Earnhardt, who is presumably at the show. My Sweet Lord at the end of Mysterious Ways. Larry had to run on the catwalk to get back for Yahweh, like he had forgotten or something lol. He's a fast runner too. And the Edge - in seemingly high spirits - let it rip with a welcome bit of mischief in his solos that made them even more piercing than usual, especially the raw-nerve ending jangle of ``Bullet the Blue Sky.'' ...(Clearly more people have cell phones now than lighters.). Larry is amazing. During Electric Co he broke both drumstick, tossed them behind him picked up 2 more in less then a 100th of a second and did not miss a beat. Toward the end of the evening, Bono said with a heartfelt sigh, ``It's nice to be home.'' Earlier on Tuesday Bono turned up for a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Boston....

'We've had a great past in this band but the thing that excites us most is the future,' raps Bono as the song closes. 'What it holds in science and technology and the idea that the world can change shape and be better. We believe God is inspiring scientists and doctors and nurses, we met someone today at the airport and this is for the little baby she is carrying - this is Miracle Drug.'....Edge, meanwhile, is flailing his guitar to a thrilling climax....Human rights is still the theme as Pride In The Name of Love gives way to Where The Streets Have No Name and One - this time, as every night, the human rights in question are those of the people of Africa, living in poverty. Edge was awesome! A young girl, whose parents brought her to the show for her 16TH birthday. Bono iater pulled her up on stage as she danced to Mysterious Ways and he then sang With or Without You to her and had her run around the circle to his waiting arms on the other side, he then sat her down and completed the song having her rise as she sang the end of it with him. Gloria ..In the solo part, Bono introduced Edge as "The" (his first name, right??)...". Some photos on: U2tours.com

THIS DAY - U2´S HISTORY: a free, lunch-time gig at Trinity College / meeting Ted Nugent / photographers to the side / 'People Get Ready' to Holly (almost 3 years old) / Larry sings 'Dancing Queen' - 'We love you Adam / 'Daydream Believer' in Texas / a 'Midnight Cowboy' / Edge&Morleigh and Bono&Ali at Neil Young / 20th VERTIGO show!

"Early Ireland" - may 12, 1979 - Dublin / Trinity College - U2 perform a free, lunch-time gig on the stairs of the college that attracts more and more students eith each song performed. Most say to listen even when it starts to rain.

"Ted Nugent" - may 12, 1981 - U2 meet Ted Nugent after his show at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, in Los Angeles, California.

"War" tour - may 12, 1983 - Passaic / New Jersey - Capitol Theater - Bono asks the photographers at the front of the stage in the press pit to move up onto and over to the sides of the stage so that the people behind them can move closer to the band. Support is "Dream Syndicate".

"The Joshua Tree" tour - may 12, 1987 - On the second night, The Edge's immediate family is in town, as well as Bono's wife Ali. Bono dedicates "People Get Ready" to The Edge's daughter: "Her first ever rock and roll concert, and that's Edge's little baby girl called Holly, she´s here..." During "40 a girl comes running onstage and embraces Bono. "You see, that´s what happens when your record goes to number 1: you get all the beautiful girls!"

"ZOOTV" tour - may 12, 1992 - Lausanne / Switzerland - Patinoire De Malley - Larry sings part of "Dancing Queen", and the song is performed in it's entirety. The boys had fun, and Adam laughed when he saw that somebody in the crowd had a sign with "We love you Adam" on it. Great night, very hot arena...."Support is B.P. Fallon and "Fatima Mansions".

"POPMart" tour - may 12, 1997 - Dallas / Texas - Cotton Bowl - Bono greeted the crowd. "Texas, it's good to be in a state where size really does matter." Big olive, a giant lemon, a huge golden arch, a massive TV screen (833 square yards of "light-emitting diodes").Edge sings "Daydream Believer"

"Elevation" tour - may 12, 2001 - Chicago / IL - United Center - One of the key songs from that first Chicago performance, "I Will Follow," with The Edge's Excalibur-like guitar slicing through the clouds. During a duet with The Edge on the track, "Stay (Faraway, So Close!)," Bono enlisted a member of the audience to play keyboards. "Keep it simple -- no flowery stuff," Bono commanded, and the rookie did exactly that. For "Mysterious Ways," a svelte audience recruit reprised the belly dancer's performance from the 1992 "Zoo TV" tour, prompting Bono to drop in a snippet of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing," before she disappeared back into the crowd without soliciting so much as a handshake. Bono and The Edge forehead to forehead during a storming "Until the End of the World," donning a "Midnight Cowboy" Stetson and affecting a Ratso Rizzo limp while visiting the underbelly of "New York." On the Spartan stage, with no special effects to hide behind, the merits of U2 once again could be observed and appreciated: the solo-free concision of The Edge's riffs (especially the stutter that ignites "Pride"), the forward motion of Clayton's atomic bass (what would the classic "With or Without You" be without him?), and the no-frills clarity of Mullen's drumming (he owns "Sunday Bloody Sunday").

"Neil Young' concert" - may 12, 2003 - Dublin - Bono and Edge, along with spouses Ali and Morleigh, respectively, attend a Neil Young concert tonight in Dublin.

20th VERTIGO tour - may 12 2005 - Chicago, IL - United Center - Kings of Leon - "Vertigo" opens for the 1st time / "Until The End Of The World" debut / "Bad" ends with some "40" - For the last of four nights in Chicago, and with the film cameras off, U2 throws its setlist in the blender. 'Vertigo' opens a show for the first time. 'All Because of You' and 'Original of the Species' are played in the main set for the 1st time. 'Until the End of the World' makes its Vertigo Tour debut. The show closes with 'Bad', which gets extended with several snippets, finally wrapping up with a bit of '40', the traditional show closer this tour. Bono, Edge and Adam gather around the drum kit as Larry finished his set at the end of the show...that moment right there is why they are the biggest band in the world - when all is said and done, their friendship after all of these years, is bigger than anything else. THIS DAY - U2´S HISTORY: Bono and Jordan / "Out Of Control" / Bono´s 23rd b-day / Bono´s 33rd b-day / Bono´s 41st b-day / Bono´s 45th b-day!

"Bono and Jordan" - may 10 - 1960 Paul David Hewson born in the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin. Twenty-nine years later, his daughter Jordan is also born.

"Out Of Control" - may 10, 1978 - On his 18th birthday, Bono pens "Out Of Control" - A new song which Bono wrote on the morning of may 10, his 18th birthday, is "Out Of Control", an exuberant, energetic song which deals with the realisation that the two major events in life - birth and death - are beyond choice or decision.

"War" - may 10, 1983 - New haven / CT - Woolsey Hall at Yale University. It's Bono's 23rd birthday, and the band is in a good mood. They've set up the first instance of a sattelite stage, or what will be commonly referred to as the "B-stage", in the middle of the audience, in order to bring Bono closer to the audience. Bono is mugged by no fewer than 5 girls during the evening, pausing to take pictures with a group of four of them. Roadie Dennis Sheehan comes onto stage to bring Bono a birthday cake, and the audience sing "Happy Birthday". Support is "Dream Syndicate".

"ZOOTV - Zooropa" tour - may 10, 1993 - Totterdam / Holland - Feyenoord Stadium - Bono celebrates his 33rd birthday onstage at a sold-out gig in the Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam. Galway theater group "Macnas" perform an anti-Fascist play before U2 take the stage. Edge does a splendid solo version of "Party Girl" and sings a quick birthday song. During "Trying To Throw Your Arms", two girls from the Dutch fan club enter the stage dressed up as a gigantic champagne bottle and birthday cake. Their appearance takes Bono by surprise and he reels off to mini-stage while the cake collapses in the distance. Bono seeks a female companion to share a glass of the real thing and brings a pretty blonde girl on to the catwalk. After a sip of champagne, he tackles her and finishes the song sitting on top of her while she lies on her back laughing her brains out. The party continues on the mini-stage with Bono ad-libbing in "My Girl"...Edge starts strumming the opening chords of "I Will Follow", the stadium goes mad. They haven´t performed the song since the LoveTown tour and tonight´s version sounds semi-improvised great....It is Bono's birthday, and one of his most memorable telephone calls occurs tonight when he rings a local travel agent looking for a flight out of town, anywhere "as long as it's sunny." After the show, management will contact the agent again to explain Bono's call and offer her two complimentary tickets to the show the following night. Tonight´s show ends with another Elvis cover. "Are You Lonesome Tonight", performed by U2 for the first time. ...The MacPhisto act forces Bono to stretch his imagination to extremes and he obviously enjoys it immensely. "I don´t know where this thing is taking me," he tells Gavin Martin of NME after the show. "What happened tonight you couldn´t plan. It was exciting but scary at the same time."

"Chernobyl" - may 10, 1998. Belarussian/Ukranian government officials announce plans to restart Reactor #3 at Chernobyl on May 18, and keep it running past the agreed shut down date of the year 2000.

"Elevation" tour - may 10, 2001 - Indianapolis - Conseco Fieldhouse - "U2 Elevation 2001, Indianapolis - Conseco Fieldhouse, Indianapolis - It's Bono's birthday. Forty one years young and the arena here at the Conseco Fieldhouse is perforated with 'Happy Birthday Bono' signs and party hats, streamers and flying glitter. One sign reads, '27,000 people came to my birthday and all I got was this card'. 'Today?s my Birthday,' Bono sings as the band take the stage, 'Happy birthday to U2.' But this is no night off work to celebrate - by the time we have reached Until The End of the World, Bono is lying on the catwalk, grabbing a female photographer from a college magazine for a birthday kiss and then, walking down the catwalk, grabbing a pot of glitter from a fan and emptying it over himself. Another girl is up on stage to dance with the birthday man for New Year's Day before Stuck In A Moment (You Can't Get Out Of) receives its customary dedication to a departed member of the glitter band. 'This song is for someone who would have loved to have been here and would have especially loved the glitter. This song is for Michael Hutchence...' Kite arrives and Bono thanks a fervent and energetic audience for spending their 'hard-earned cash' on a rock show. No one is indicating second thoughts! 'This is a song we haven't played very often, this is Kite.' It's also a song that is now a set regular, in part because of the way fans at the early shows lobbied for its appearance. New York is followed by a tune some two decades older in I Will Follow and then Sunday Bloody Sunday, with total audience participation and snatches of Marley's Get Up Stand Up, with the singer wrapping an Irish flag around the microphone. 'Thank you, thanks a lot. I'd like to introduce you to the band old school style. 'In what we'd call high school we met up at 14, 15, 16 years old. I'd like to tell you what everyone was eating..' But he seems to have forgotten. 'On drums Larry Mullen Jnr, on bass Adam Clayton and wearing No. 23, The Edge....' Audience suitably appreciative. Arena roof rises imperceptively as a rejuvenated Desire arrives with Bono and Edge at the point of the heart catwalk and then another recent addition to the show. 'We've been playing this song from a record we don't play very often. At the start of the 90's we did a lot of work at Hansa Studios. It was an extraordinary time for us, we kind of floated out there, we found some beautiful songs...it's very cold in Berlin.' Midway through the song he takes a phone from a fan and sings into it. The lyrics are again transposed, London, Belfast and - with the audience bellowing - 'Indianapolis'. All I Want Is You with Bono opening alone on guitar arrives before Larry and Adam and Edge join in and then becomes Where the Streets Have No Name whereupon the video screens at the back of the stage read 'Happy Birthday Bono'. He sprints around the stage anyway and, with Mysterious Ways, wonders aloud if there are 'Any dancers in the house - it's my birthday.' Onto the catwalk he pulls up a girl from the heart of the audience, and then another. And another. You get the picture. This continues for some time until there are about 30 girls up on stage with U2, some kind of first. 'I feel like Hugh Hefner!' says Bono. But Hefner never had 27,000 people had one of his birthday parties." This night Edge wears red shirt#23.

19th 'VERTIGO' show - may 10, 2005 - Chicago, IL - United Center - Seating Chart - Kings of Leon. 3 fans on stage / champagne on Edge / "Party Girl" and "Original Of The Species" to Jordan / "Happy Birthday" to Bono / a solid performance! - For the 2nd night of U2's home video shoot, the band seeks continuity with last night's show. The setlist is the same until the final few songs. Laura, the fan who played guitar during 'Party Girl' last night, reprises that role tonight - but with a new twist as Bono ends the song by spraying a bottle of champagne on her, the band, and the crowd. It's Bono's birthday, and the crowd sings 'Happy Birthday' to him after 'Mysterious Ways.' Bono dances with a fan during 'Mysterious Ways' and brings a young boy on stage during 'Into the Heart.' Having played Vertigo for the cameras early on in the show, at the end the band reprise their hit single, with Bono claiming 'this one´s for me'. The Edge is really into this one tonight, goes up on the ellipse for part of it. Tons of trademark Edge moves. Sunday Bloody Sunday - Great crowd pleaser, Bono sings "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage..." in an obvious tribute to Chicago band Smashing Pumpkins. Party Girl - Strong full band version, graced by fan on guitar trying to keep up with the Edge. She receives a bottle of Korbel for her efforts, and the other gets sprayed into the ellipse and on Edge. Bono is obviously enjoying himself at this point. Dedicates it to Jordan...Original of the Species - Brilliant, Bono says "its the best song off of the record" Edge on piano, it is dedicated to Bono's daughter JoJo, who was obviously in attendance as he pointed to her in the VIP area in front of the sound desk.
